Technician The Sir John Colfox Academy

37 hours a week term time only

Scale 3 (Pay point 8 - 12)

We require an enthusiastic and flexible person to join our committed team of support staff.  The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative support to teaching staff in the Science department including some in-class support with pupil activities.  The duties will be varied across the department, helping to maintain an orderly, safe and healthy environment – preparing and maintaining resources, apparatus and equipment.

A vocational or academic qualification in the relevant subject area at NVQ Level 2 or above is preferred, together with previous practical experience in an appropriate work area.  However, we would be delighted to hear from anyone who has an interest in the post and works with children.

This is a great time to join our school as we have recently established a multi-academy trust with three of our feeder primary schools and there might be opportunities to work closely with these schools.  Results across the school at GCSE and A Level were very strong in both attainment and progress.  We are a member of the Pixl Club, the Jurassic Coast Teaching Schools Alliance and have several staff involved in national initiatives.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Details and an application form can also be found below or you can apply directly at www.dorsetforyou.com/jobs and selecting School Support Staff.
