New Head for St Mary’s CE Primary School

Kate Batorska has been appointed as the new Head of St Mary’s CE Primary School in Bridport from April 2019.
“We are delighted to be able to announce this appointment,” said Kay Taylor, Executive Principal of the Minerva Learning Trust.” Kate led the school through the recent very successful Ofsted and we know she will continue to lead the school from strength to strength”.
Kate has been a teacher and senior leader for many years. For the last 9 years she has also worked with primary schools across Dorset, providing mathematics intervention training and support. Kate’s leadership was strongly praised by Ofsted during their recent inspection. “We were very lucky to have Kate to step in and take on the reins when Helen left. She has already set her standards very high and I know that St Mary’s is in good hands”, said Martin Warne, Chair of Governors.
Kate commented, “St Mary’s is an inspiring place to work. We have a dedicated team of staff who all understand that learning is a life long journey. We engage with research to constantly refine the teaching we provide, with the aim of helping children to develop a love of learning and a belief that they can achieve the very best.”
Helen Farmer, the previous head of St Mary’s School for 11 years will now be solely responsible for Bridport Primary School until she retires in August 2019. She said, “I am really delighted and proud that Mrs Batorska will be the new head at St Mary’s. She is dedicated to serving the children and families at St Mary’s and will ensure, with her excellent team of staff, that every child is able to shine”.
