A recently held national competition to win a HP Sprout Pro was won by St Mary’s Primary School. An all-in-one desktop PC with 3D scanner, the HP Sprout enables you to grab something from the real world, and bring it to life in physical space. The prize was presented to the school on 15th September by European Electronique and HP and a group of Year 3 pupils were excited to try it out.
Helen Farmer, head teacher at the school said, “The children were delighted and very intuitive in how to use it; much more than the teachers! Initial activities will be to design a 3D character which they will use in the games they have developed so they can see this character participating on screen.”
Shaun Thomas, Senior Business Development Manager at European Electronique said,” We are very pleased to have presented the HP Sprout to St Mary’s Primary. It will provide pupils with the opportunity to get creative and enjoy an engaging learning experience. I am sure it will be put to great use by the students and staff at the school”.
Dan Thompson, Partner Business Manager HP Inc. Training for the students and teachers. The HP Sprout is a highly immersive and intuitive device, and it was great to see the students and teachers get ‘hands on’ and heavily involved from the moment it was set up. I would like to thank Helen Farmer, the teachers, and the Year 3’s for their time and enthusiasm they had on what was a thoroughly successful day.”
